Texas Hospital and Physician Practice Quality Improvement Award Programs


Hospital Award LogoSince 2004, TMF Health Quality Institute, in partnership with Texas Hospital Association, Texas Organization of Rural and Community Hospitals, Texas Medical Association and Texas Osteopathic Medical Association, has sponsored the Texas Health Care Quality Improvement Award program for hospitals. In 2012, 167 out of 214 participating hospitals were awarded Gold, Silver or Bronze awards. 

The 2012-2013 hospital award program will automatically include all Inpatient Prospective Payment System (IPPS or Acute Care) Hospitals and Critical Access Hospitals (CAH) statewide. For more information on this program, please click here.



Physician Award Logo Since 2012, TMF, in partnership with Texas Medical Association and Texas Osteopathic Medical Association, has sponsored the Texas Physician Practice Quality Improvement Award. Any practice in the state of Texas with one or more Texas-licensed physicians providing care for Medicare fee-for-service patients is eligible to participate.

All practicing provider(s) must not have been disciplined or excluded by any federal or state regulatory agency, licensing board or health care facility in the last five (5) years.

Announcing the 2013 – 2014 Award Program
The criteria for the 2013 – 2014 Texas Physician Practice Quality Improvement Award program have been released. Please follow the links on the left to obtain more information about the next awards cycle. Applications will be due by June 13, 2014. The online application will be available in April. More information will be released once the online application is live. Sign up to receive important reminders about the program, as well as deadlines to apply.

Both of these non-competitive award programs are designed to recognize high performers in quality improvement statewide.
